There were celebrations all round when Head Greenkeeper Glenn Miller scored a fantastic birdie at the official opening of Ullesthorpe Golf Club's new 15th hole.  The event was held to herald in incoming Captain Joe Maudlin and Lady Captain Frances Farren.

The new 15th hole is a magnificent par 5 with visually spectacular, and very challenging, bunkers, and a new pond.  Members entered a draw to have the honour of being the first to play the hole with the incoming Captains; the lucky pair were Alan Parr and Janet Hartley Byng.  The event took place in brilliant sunshine on the eve of the new Captains' Drive In.

David Evrall, Golf Manager at Ullesthorpe Court said  "It was a fantastic start to the season.  The new hole is a major addition to the course and part of our on-going programme further to develop the excellent golf facilities we have at Ullesthorpe Golf Club."
