Best Western Plus Ullesthorpe Court recognises the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and the need to consider the economic, social and development impact of our activities.

We are proud to announce that Green Tourism Business Scheme has recently reassessed the hotel and upgraded us from a silver award to GOLD!

The GTBS is the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK. Businesses opting to join are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more. Within the scheme each business is scored on up to 60 measures and the results then establish what award level they have achieved (Going Green, Bronze, Silver or Gold).

Going that extra mile at Best Western Plus Ullesthorpe Court Hotel & Golf Club

  • We recycle paper, plastic, cardboard, printer cartridges, glass, batteries and light bulbs
  • Hot water is on demand rather than using storage tanks
  • Self irrigation system for watering our golf course
  • We monitor flora and fauna on our facilities and provide plenty of nesting sites around the golf course
  • Low energy lighting whenever possible
  • Whereever possible we use locally sourced food such as eggs from the next village and meat from a local butcher.
  • Supporting local businesses helps reduce the carbon footprint, so where possible the hotel likes to source supplies from around Leicestershire

ELECTRIC CA​R ​CHARGING

If you own an Electric Car and unsure where you are going to charge up overnight when away on business – don’t worry because now all you need to do is let our reception team know when you make your booking or check in at the hotel and you can use one of our two points (13amp or 32amp) completely FREE of Charge (for hotel residents).

Thanks to Zero Carbon World who donated the units to the hotel we can now offer this service to guests staying overnight or needing a top up whilst using the hotel facilities.

Guest Rooms for People with disabilities

The hotel has two fully fitted rooms for people with disabilities.

Some of the features of these rooms:

• Fully fitted Wet-Room accessible for wheelchair users
• Emergency pull-cord which alerts Reception to assistance being required
• Lowered light switches
• Adjoining Bedroom for cases in which carer(s) can be close
• Large font menus for room service available on request
• Warning Light connected to fire-alarm for hard of hearing
• Vibrating Pillow available from Reception
• Radiator Guards
• Lowered Spy-hole for security
