I don’t know about you but I can’t think of anything better than sitting in the back garden on a nice day with something to eat and drink. It also helps when the sun is shining and I’m sinking into some comfy furniture.

Imagine my delight when, after a two year debate, it was agreed that the Hotel would be building a terrace area onto Lincolns for guests to use. Nothing makes me feel more nervous with projects like this as we all know everyone has an opinion. To be honest in the back of my mind there was a concern that this could turn into a few table and chairs with the odd cream umbrella on a bit of mowed lawn. How wrong could I possibly be!

We started the project in March of 2017 with the initial removal of the old drive and raised patio. It then took some five weeks to make the ground work to start the project in full. It wasn’t until the base structure started to be laid that you could see what it might look like. Over the next couple of weeks the flooring started to be put down and the pagoda was erected. This was probably the moment I first realised that this was going to be first class! The pagoda is made out of solid oak beams and ash wood tiles giving the terrace a rustic feel. The rest of the terrace started to go up at a fair pace after the pagoda was erected with a stunning stone resin floor to one side and mock wooden effect panels on the other side. To capture the link between the terrace and the hotel a beautiful stone gable wall was built which links seamlessly.

The final part for me was possibly the arrival of the furniture as this is what, I think, makes you want to use the terrace and I was not disappointed. Gorgeous dining tables of all shapes and sizes with sumptuous ergonomic bucket seats. To soften the whole terrace, inside and out, we used lavenders, honeysuckles, heuchera, geraniums but to name a few, which add stunning fragrances when in bloom.

We finished the project at the end of June 2017 here are the before photos:

With the added addition of our newly designed gardens to the rear of the hotel picture below we are now the place to be for all occasions.

If you’re looking for somewhere to go for a bite to eat, or just a leisurely drink then I would highly recommend it. The terrace can be used for weddings, private functions and family gatherings.

We are currently running an offer on prosecco especially for the launch of our new terrace at £19.95 per bottle reduced from £24.95. If you’re interesting in talking to one of the team, regarding a special event or occasion, then please call one of our friendly team on 01455 209023 or visit our website (click here)
